TSL: TONGUES AS A SECOND LANGUAGE*

HOW ONE RECEIVES “PRAYING IN AN UNKNOWN, NON NATIVE, TONGUE”

1. One invites Jesus Christ into their heart as the personal Lord and Savior.
2. Once Christ lives inside their heart, then He leaves a free deposit of His helper Holy Spirit, with evidence given of Galatians 5:22-23 “spiritual fruits of the Holy Spirit“22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,²³ Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
3. Either at the same times (as accepting Christ) OR any time following that, be it days, even many years, the “born again” Christ follower may ask God to give them the “baptism of the Holy Spirit” (or some may call it the “infilling of the Holy Spirit” or similar) with the (free gift) of praying in tongues.

REASON FOR ALL OF THIS: (this is a Mini Synopsis Overview) It gives much more supernatural (dunamis) Holy Spirit ongoing power, which emboldens, encourages, strengthens, and even helps with REFRESHING and more accurate PERCEPTION and DISCERNMENT…but not in magic formula, but over time and with nurturing, guarding and being spiritually mature to GOVERN and LEARN about it (fellowshipping, sitting under good teaching, leaders, and then practicing and “falling off the horse, you pick yourself up and get right back on).

 

CURIOUS QUESTIONS ABOUT ALL OF THIS:

Is it purely SPIRITUAL, as in MYSTICAL? Is it ever PRACTICAL and APPLICABLE in daily life? AND if one accepts this free New Testament GIFT and (Holy Spirit DUNAMIS) supplied power..does it DOMINATE, SEIZE CONTROL or MAKE ONE ACT OUT IN A VERY UNDIGNIFIED UNGOVERNABLE BEHAVIOR?

 

While the writer PLANS to discuss each ONE of the above..in this very first SHORT mention of the Holy Ghost TSL Subject…she will return later, with much more about the above mentioned SUCH. (And only God knows the appointed Day)

 

RECEIVING THE FREE GIFT OF BEING FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT with an evidence of receiving an unknown prayer language……

The apostle Paul highly recommended it, the First Church set great stock on it, yet based upon Common Doctrines in Ephesians 4, it is not to be dogmatic, legalistic as it is not MANDATORY.

I Corinthians 14 (again apostle Paul) reminds the Church that it is more important to “edify, encourage and strengthen “( aka prophecy) in a group fellowship setting, than to pray in glossolalia.

But, for many who believe that when the First Apostles died out, that ‘praying on an unknown prayer language” (aka tongues) also died out with them.
I would then submit to any of you what Paul taught in I Corinthians 14:21(and you may feel free to read this verse in context) “In the law it is written (meaning back in the Old Testament Levitical Law, pre Christ following, Acts Holy Spirit (these) days) with men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people, and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord.”

NOTE: Later, the writer plans to expound deeply into this big topic. (reasons for, Bible passages, etc) but cannot do such at this particular time.

While this is only the tiniest mention of a very large, complex and often strongly debated subject, (Unknown Tongues) the writer merely shares it in line with Holy Spirit imbued anointing…..

 

….and does so in a fully respectful, (abiding James 3:17**) relationship-preserving, NON DOGMATIC ,emotionally mature fashion….while the She fully encourages each and every person’s Noble Berean ongoing research.

**JAMES 3:17 “The wisdom that comes from above is first of all pure, peaceable, EASILY ENTREATED, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.”
