RE-LIVING FOND CHRISTMAS MEMORIES

 

WHEN WE WENT TO CUT OUR FRESH LIVE CHRISTMAS TREE

This is the TRUTH. Back on the East Coast, when the children were young, we drove out to a very popular local berry farm to cut down a live Christmas tree. We had been there many times to pick strawberries in May and we expected that the pursuit of the fresh Christmas tree would be similarly successful…

 

 

However, the area had been experiencing a long drought and evidently it must’ve strongly affected the entire Christmas tree forest….because as we climbed out of the car, saw in hand, and looked around for a good tree to cut…I suddenly noticed that each of the LIVE trees had been SPRAY PAINTED GREEN….. and around each tree, on the ground, was a very obvious GREEN, SPRAY PAINT tell tale CIRCLE!

 

Needless to say, the disillusionment was overwhelming. So we all climbed back into our car and went to a Christmas tree lot.

Yet the shocking discovery will forever be embedded in my memory!
