THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY APOSTOLIC MINISTRY LEADER BIBLE STUDY: PREAMBLE

DISCLAIMER

Let this writer first state: there is a difference in a person “walking in the office of the prophet” (which is one of God’s five fold ministry gifts to Christ’s Church) and the “spirit of prophecy” which we mean as reflecting the Savior, Jesus, according to Revelation 19:10, “The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”

SPIRIT OF PROPHECY BIBLE STUDY ONGOING INTENDED PURPOSES

One of the main purposes of this BIble study on “the spirit of prophecy” is to bring this subject down to grass roots ministry levels. In order to do this, one must first demystify the words “spirit of prophecy, prophecy and prophet” in order to make each one far more understandable to those seated in the congregations, and not to mention, far less spooky or elite, to both minister and evangelistic lay person.

Yet the need will always remain for clear, balanced Bible based teaching and training on this free spiritual free, yet controversial spiritual gift: “the spirit of prophecy.“

The purpose of this Apostolic Ministry Leader “THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY” Bible study is to try to demystify and dethrone various popular religious stigma, such as accusation, elitism, leader exaltation and abject fear, being too spooky…ALL of which, and much more, have attached themselves even the mention of the leader words SPIRIT OF PROPHECY, EPHESIANS 4:11 OFFICE OF A PROPHET, PROPHET, PROPHETIC words themselves. like

The other main purpose of this Bible online study is to try to demystify and dethrone various popular religious stigma which have attached themselves even the mention of the words themselves.

Much like the A word “apostle” and the other P Word ” pastor” the other “P words” Prophet and Prophecy act like Red Flag Buzz words which trigger visceral reactions in many throughout the mostly overly well fed, very well educated mostly American western body.


We must not to fail to mention that all of God’s “good and perfect gifts” are continually targeted by demonic supernatural subversive powers which will always try to hinder or discourage their use through or else try to make pastors and lay persons afraid of ‘going off the deep end” or “getting flakey.”

And where ever God has ordained these totally free, supernatural gifts, the enemy, when left unguarded, tries to raise up false counterfeits (from occult, New Age) or to bear bad witness through some who say they move in these gifts, by their ignorance, lack of true humility or lack of ( Holy Spirit) personal self governing self control.

The accompanying spiritual topics may or may not be addressed toward the end of this lengthy study: the role of paying the price for making Jesus Christ Lord and Savior, the real persuasive reason for real pure hearted spiritual oversight, when to use your own personal God given unique spiritual authority but when and if do you need anothers?

What is the difference between prophecy, the New Age, Psychic? When can a prophetic Christian leave the God ordained spirit of prophecy and go over into the false realm of psychic or mind control?

What is Christian on Christian psychic spiritual warfare in Christ’s body? How can one remain “somewhat normal and be really real” while moving in the spiritual gifts? I want to address all of these and a great deal more, if God allows.

PERSPECTIVE OF THE SPIRITUAL RULE OF THUMB : most often, the leadership or lack their of, is the one whom God holds responsible for the fruit in the congregation.

This is the trickle down effect, both bad and very good. Then, out in the ranks, including all leaders, junior ministers, it is 1) failure submit first to what God is saying in His Bible, then to the Holy Spirit, then to the head leader under whom God has sent you.

If the head leader is not under the proper spiritual authority, is not balanced by the pure Word of God (the Holy BIble) or has some giant ego need to fill, then all of this, even if Jesus is their Lord, will eventually trickle down and affect those they minister to.

It is up to the head spiritual leader to find those equal men or women to practice spiritual, financial and personal accountability as well as to speak into their personal lives. SIDE TOPIC: LACK OF KNOWLEDGE:

The number of apostolic ministry topics to which the term “lack of knowledge” may be applied is varied and vast.

Thus in order to the deep topic of spirit of prophetic justice, it will take much time and a lot of in depth accompanying side topics. Please bear with me in this lengthy study.

SIDE TOPIC: TRUE SPIRITUAL SUBMISSION (a topic for an entire book in itself)

It is real need for submission in each of the main areas, which gives a true prophetic minister the balance and backing that is needed. The first submission is unto God and His unfailing Word.

The Second is house hold head proper order. The third is the senior leader asks God for the proper spiritual leaders to practice oversight. (however, this topic, headship, oversight, is thorny and huge in itself and has produced much bondage, abuse and control in some parts of Christ’ s pure hearted, respectful and well intentioned body, so please, if that is what you have experienced, then please, do not let this put any more religious condemnation on your already burdened tired soul.

Even when each TOPIC is thorny for SOLE PURPOSES of chief servant apostolic “SELAH” DEEPLY INSIGHTFUL THOUGHT PROVOKING….All will be INTENDED as SERVANT LEADER in pioneering senior ministry “iron sharpens iron.” WITH a reader ongoing disclaimer “IF ANY SHOE DOES NOT FIT, THEN PLEASE DO NOT TRY TO WEAR IT!”

AND we ongoing urge EACH mature READER to choose to be a Noble Berean , similar to those who were commended by servant office leader, chief Apostle Paul, who praised them for examining HIS DOCTRINE to find out if it were “really so” (meaning really in line with God’s Holy Scriptures.)

AND it is the writer’s intention to NEVER EVER will be meant to put any sort of legalistic guilt trip on anyone! We instead “lob the proverbial spiritual tennis ball over into YOUR COURT..but then leave it there for YOU to process and do Noble Berean ongoing study.

AND we do all of this in respectful JAMES 3:17 spiritual “relationship” spiritual (non intended to be spooky) fruit.

JAMES 3:17 “The wisdom that comes from above is first of all pure, peaceable, easily entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy”**

** And we ENCOURAGE ALL DOCTRINAL DIFFERENT POINTS OF VIEW, even EXTREME DISAGREEMENTS to be role modeled in mutually respectful Apostolic JAMES 3:17 Leader, personal, corporate,In House Style.

For just right now, I do not want to get sidetracked on this topic, but later, once God tells me, then I want to speak more on striking the balance required for maintaining simple purity with maturitiy in the administration of these gifts.

SIDE TOPIC: We each need to comprehend, that the mindblinder, satan, will continually try to put assignments to pervert and subvert the use of what God has always intended to be one of HIs innocent, wonderful, pleasurable but very righteous spiritual gift.

How the Writer Uses the Words “Spirit of Prophecy” Herein

Note: the writer of this Bible study uses the words “prophecy” and “the spirit of prophecy” interchangeably without ever meaning “the office of the prophet” unless specifically noting that.

The writer of this Bible study also uses the words “the spirit of prophecy, and any Bible teaching done with regards to any manner in which persons who learn about moving in the spirit of prophecy to be warned to remain in balance with how Jesus Christ Himself, the Truest of All True Prophets, conducted HImself in the ministry but also in private. To do this, each one must adhere to the following Checks and Balances verse:

“Jesus went about doing good.” (Acts 10:38)

“How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.”

The main purpose for this Bible study of the words “the spirit of prophecy in this Bible is soley to make it more simple, understandable and attainable (as in,that this spirit is not elitest or exclusive).

Another purpose of bringing forth what may be an spiritual outbreak of witnessing to those who are in need and those who are not yet saved. Full and clear Bible based understanding must demystify the spirit of prophecy to remove the many religious stigmas already attached to even the mention of the words. “spirit of prophecy.”



The writer reminds all seekers to please remove any previous,even religious preconceived ideas or self prescribed pseudo prophetic doctrines and to please realize that focusing on moving the saints toward use of the spirit of prophecy has nothing whatsoever to do with being a part of New Age or psychic or the occult.

NOTE: And if that even comes up as a blip any where in your soul or spirit, then you first need to allow this Bible study to construct some brand new ideas.

There are many different view points on the spirit of prophecy, Not a single person ,including this Bible study writer or any of the many others, truly knows “it ALL.” Hence, the author of this Bible study places food for thought and prayer in the following but asks each one of you “pick out the stubble but eat the hay.”

ONCE again: to merely STUDY any spiritual gift never turns any body into the office associated with a more spiritually developed and mature but God assigned “office” of that same gift.

So, I advise that this entire Bibles study be downloaded for meditation and prayerful study, but one must be aware that if the result of any of the moving in the spirit of prophecy DOES NOT RESULT in the fruit acting more like Jesus would have acted, then quickly toss it all out!

Sr. Pastors, when you produce spiritual fruit by your training persons in the use of the spirit prophecy, never cease to review what type of spiritual fruit your own teaching is produced out in the ranks (the congregation).

If the fruit is good, then God’s people will be happy, outgoing, evangelizing, child like receptive and outwardly giving and genuinely compassionate, warm and loving. YET, if/when your teaching is bearing bad fruit, the people will be jealous, self centered, spooky, or dominating, and never satisified.


A part of this Bible study will open itself up to questions and answers. 
One of the biggest enduring questions which many believers deal with is the frustration we all encounter when God gives us a rhema Bible verse or we get a word from the Lord, The Timing.

But first, we must set the stage for all of that.


To keep the Revelation 19:10 ” Testimony of Jesus ” truly reflected in any who are used by God in the “spirit of prophecy” then must have checks and balances for reminding ourselves to be used much more widely by the Spirit of God, but to continue to remain balanced by knowing how and when to “turn it all off” in order to even be more affective in dealing with unsaved ‘quasi normal’ blessed folks, including real and some spiritual children.


The key factor is to ELIMINATE the FEAR FACTOR: the abject FEAR of “Getting spiritually OFF”, the FEAR of what is BEYOND OUR OWN CONTROL” and the FEAR based upon what we’ve KNOWN from TV, MOVIES,MANY OTHERS about “the spooky supernatural “dark” SIDE….

ADD TO each of the above a deep in the closet FEAR OF MEN”S FACES and the PROPHETIC MINISTRY STEREOTYPES…”turning into a prophetic word overly dependent “WORD JUNKIE”and/or a “No earthly good “space cadet” ….

AND ALSO start to avoid the supersensitive ,always cold and aloof, very self protective, extremely overly self introspective…and then train to avoid being overly demon conscious, which then attracts more of them..plus it brings a IN MINISTRY “paranoia” which believes it now “PROPHETICALLY PERCEIVES too many witches, demons and King Ahabs, bossy demonic Queen Jezebels …..on OTHER CHRIST FOLLOWERS, even SR OFFICE LEADERS…

…..which then creates REPEATED IN HOUSE FRIENDLY FIRE, deep emotional WOUNDING which then make the ADVERTISED as accepting and emotionally safe HOUSE OF JESUS CHRIST then VERY UNSAFE and increasingly VERY UNPOPULAR.

Spirit of Prophecy Ministry Equipping: Does It Truly Reflect the Character of Jesus?

IN NEW TESTAMENT “SPIRIT OF PROPHECY” “THE OFFICE OF THE ORACLE PROPHET”…. KEEP PROPHECY CENTERED AROUND THE LIFE, MINISTRY, NATURE OF JESUS DEPICTED IN THE GOSPELS

MAIN POINT: Jesus was neither pretentious, self righteous nor ever was He dogmatic, overly preachy, status seeking, overly self absorbed, spooky spiritual or self righteous. He was did not live virtually cloistured all alone with his private disciples. instead he went about and about daily with the masses yet stopped to play with the children.

If the “spirit of prophecy” does not resemble the “testimony of Jesus who went about doing good” then for sure, this use of this mighty precious gift has been incorrectly taught, incorrectly spiritually badly parented, or even abused due to very unbalanced teaching or lack of purity in the use of that gift.

Hopefully, in doing this Bible study, a few may actually increase in much spiritual accuracy in God’s discernment, direction, and when or when not to give a pure word of comfort, edification or strengthening.

And I pray that God uses this to help all persons judge when the true “spirit of prophecy” is in genuine operation or it is is TV generated hype, manipulation or improper soul stirring for fund raising technics.

ASIDE: there is a big difference in minister manipulation (such as using intentional EMOTIONALISM, HYPE) and God’s out of the box genuine Holy Spirit pentecostal real fire, but at times it is very hard to tell what is in operation!

And sometimes what we call “real hype” may be OUR OWN dullness of perception, or our carrying PREDISPOSITIONS (both fFOR and/or TOTALLY AGAINST ). Combine having that with genuine lack of knowlege or what the Bible calls ,”the gospel being sent to untrained ignorant (hu)mans (see about APOSTLE PETER and APOSTLE JOHN beneath:

“Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.” ACTS 4:13


HOWEVER…… on the other hand, the Bible tells us NOT TO REMAIN IGNORANT (The realistic thought often comes”be ye not clueless brethren, sistren”)…for the Bible warns us “not to (choose to remain) IGNORANT of satan’s devices (2 Corinthians 2:11) ……and the leader end BY PRODUCT for allowing ongoing SPOOKY , LOST IN PROPHETIC FANTASY, flakey and/or along with always aloof, self absorbed, even super touchy, too often mean spirited, unloving, actually reflect badly back onto YOU. (Not to say how “accepting Christ as Personal born again SAVIOR now appears to be so represented, meaning “by their fruits you will know them.”

THUS if SPIRIT OF PROPHECY,all apostolic Holy Spirit discernment, perception ongoing related, indeed SPIRITUAL GIFTS, including “being led by the inward witness ” completed with “DISCERNING , following only the VOICE OF THE GOOD SHEPHERD…

AND it remains BIBLE BALANCED, (which this prophetic writer states SHOULD INCLUDE TIME OFF …with time to PLAY, HAVE A FAMILY FUN, WORK OUT, DINE OUT..which would help in being (ongoing) somewhat NORMAL..(the “PROPHETIC NATURAL”)….

“You don’t have to be NORMAL..but you SHOULD be NATURAL” IFFM Ministries /Dr Taveau D’Arcy Personal Code to Live In

PLUS, then with Seeking help from the LORD and GOD GRANTING HIS MORE GRACE, MERCY AND UNDERLYING POWER AND WISDOM…

….then we can apply this to ministry which “EDIFIES, COMFORTS and STRENGTHENS” (definition of the purpose of the SPIRIT OF PROPHECY GIFT)….

….. to the lost, the badly ministry damaged, and at least woo many multiplied millions of lost, completely board, searching lost souls might be one in supermarket lines, mall food courts and on the basketball court…

…..once (and IF) the GENUINE Bible true saints are given permission from those in the pulpits and church houses, to really learn about and them move out into the Harvest using the “You don’t have to be normal, but you should be natural” very prophetic school of BIble thought.

FYI: Dear Reader: PUH-LEASE don’t go around thinking that just because i shared this part on the “spirit of prophecy” that I told YOu that NOW I told you that you function in the “office of the prophet.” That is ABSOLUTELY NOT what was mentioned here.
