A WORD SENT THROUGH  PROPHET HAGGAI

PART 2 CHAPTER 1

NOTE: This SELAH PRESENT DAY MINISTRY LEADER WORD was first given to me the first week or two in October, and I self introspected the prophetic ,Present Day meaning of it for MYSELF…however, following me directly heeding that, I also felt strongly prompted to submit it to the leaders and ministers who have “Ears to Hear” within the Global True Body of Christ”

PART 2 IS HAGGAI CHAPTER 1, with PART 3 CHAPTER 3 and concluding, today or sometime tomorrow.

 

 

V.1. In the second year of Darius the king, in the sixth month, in the first day of the month, came the word of the LORD by Haggai the prophet unto Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, saying,

• Haggai the prophet receives a word from the Lord for the governor of Judah, Zerubbabel, and the high priest Joshua.

V2 Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, This people say, The time is not come, the time that the LORD’S house should be built.

• God sends a word directed to the Israelites living in the kingdom of Judah. The majority of the people have misperceived their priorities. And the Lord has heard them repeatedly saying among themselves, ‘It’s really not very important for us to give our tithes and love offerings so that God’s house can be built.”

V.3 Then came the word of the LORD by Haggai the prophet, saying, V.4 Is it time for you, O ye, to dwell in your cieled (paneled with wood that was usually reserved for palaces) houses, and this house lie waste?

• God sent His oracle messenger to give a word to His people .Why do you live in paneled houses, lined with comfort and luxury when My house is run down and lies in waste? So why do you put your own comfort, Your Self /Me Centric interests FIRST…. before ME?

 

V.5 Now therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways.

• The Word coming from the Lord is “You truly need to self evaluate, to practice some serious self inspection. To soberly, many of you somberly…must intentionally consult the “(Hu)man in the Mirror”

 

 

• Material Possessions: Perhaps today one could wonder “Do I have many possessions OR do the possessions have ME” (Aka the New Testament Jesus parable of “Rich Young Ruler”)

 

• Big Quantity, Best Quality: And we each must not only sow (God truly directed )QUANTITY but also good QUALITY we sow, give, earn but then technically GIVE AWAY (be it income, possessions, clothing, children’s toys) Do I, we give “only the left overs, what is very worn, weary even shabby..to represent giving to THE ALMIGHTY GOD?

And the next verse (6) states the Real Reason WHY. The vast majority of God’s Hebrew people had grown dull of perception and clueless.

V. 6 Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages to put it into a bag with holes.

• God’s leader message to them says “you’re planting many fields of crops but you never every (over a long time!) bring in a big harvest.

 

• When you buy very carefully at the grocery store and try to be frugal, and plan ahead. And even when you snag a BOGO, bargain shop and/or try to eat organic and healthy, still something comes along which runs up your expenses and ruins your attempt to budget. Plus, no matter how much you eat, you never seem to be filled. Plus the extreme high pressure triggers your emotional eating. (MODERN MEANING: That’s why so many of you have gained all of those extra unwanted pounds and have many addictions!)

 

• Yes, you try to economize, to shop very carefully and Google search for the best sale prices, on Amazon and Walmart..but either the item wears out too soon or is made of shoddy cheap materials so that you have to buy more. Besides, your kids are continually putting big pressure on you to keep up with the Joneses. And because they’re kids, they keep growing like weeds and just when you think you’ve got everyone outfitted, one of them needs new tennis shoes or club dues or another high tech gizmo, video game, a new cell phone and/ or Netflix. Plus the weekly Starbucks, bar tab “entertainment” bill…

 

• You’re always bemoaning that as soon as you get paid, your car breaks down or something really important breaks down and that no matter how hard you work to get ahead, there is one emergency need, big surprise bill a after another…and now you’re living paycheck to paycheck.

 

V. 7 Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways.

• MANY of you regularly practice the assessed ” sins of Sodom” (Ezekiel 16:49-50*) yet you regularly act religious and superiour proud, big condescending to many True Unique Individuals who are in the gay, many other types of diverse communities. (even when they are “Jesus accepters” who might have a different Book of Ephesians 4 Common Doctrine** type Bible theological VIEWPOINT ..and whom God holds each one of them personally accountable, just as He does YOURS and MINE, OUR personal Theology!)

 

• ^*”Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister SODOM, pride, fullness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy. And they were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away as I saw good. “Ezekiel 16:49-50

• While the majority of God’s people are complaining, crying out to the Lord…and beseeching Him in frustrated intercession. the Lord once again advises them to self inspect….to consider their own ways, big and small choices, their methods, their actions, their decisions and their habits, and also how they treat, give respect each one of their many ongoing relationships.

 

V8. Go up to the mountain, and bring wood, and build the house; and I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified, saith the LORD.

 

• God instructs His very own people to get up off their spiritual duffs and to set about doing the needed real work to build God’s House. He says in effect” If YOU put building My House before your own, then I will be pleased (take pleasure in your actions and giving of tithe, offerings, talents and energy) and you will cause Me to be glorified.

 

* V.9 Ye looked for much, and, lo, it came to little; and when ye brought it home, I did blow upon it. Why? saith the LORD of hosts. Because of mine house that is waste, and ye run every man unto his own house.

• Many of you’ve worked so hard, trying to achieve, racking up 60-80 hour days to buy the latest chariot, to fund the children’s college fund, your 401K plan, to get them the latest computers and video games. to make sure that everyone in your household was dressed to the nines and always in the latest best style and trend.

 

• You paid club dues and bought all of that tennis gear, golf clubs and dined out religiously 3 -5 times a week, while the leaders in My House were left with just the faithful handful, to carry the brunt of all the bills and the church office had need for supplies and the roof needed fixed. Plus the budget was so low that it put the pastor and ministers under great stress. There are many living in deep destitution, poverty. The growing numbers of homeless, even with many children, is astronomical.

 

V. 10 Therefore the heaven over you is stayed from dew, and the earth is stayed from her fruit.

• Yet you wondered why you continually prayed but never got your “breakthrough” And why it seemed like no matter how long and hard you prayed, that nothing ever changed or broke that poverty stronghold.

 

 

V.11 And I called for a drought upon the land, and upon the mountains, and upon the corn, and upon the new wine, and upon the oil, and upon that which the ground bringeth forth, and upon men, and upon cattle, and upon all the labor of the hands.

• And because of the majority of My people because of your own choices, your wrong priorities, your self indulgent Me Centric self indulgence.

 

• Also, many of you affix your Identity, Call and all over Esteem, even affecting your Moods” to “the love of achievement/too many possessions” and even your adventures, high tech and Outer Court Earth Suit appearance.

 

• All to many of you leaders minister, take the personal status view that being able to display inordinate wealth, fashion and preferred “ YOUR OWN” Style…as Ministry Success. (implied meaning “living large” “looking very good” “being fit” and “having mucho mega business, ministry, leader Success”)

 

HOWEVER…we duly note the Prophet’s words about a Godly “REMNANT” among the massive Israelite Nation:

V.12 Then Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, with all the remnant of the people, obeyed the voice of the LORD their God, and the words of Haggai the prophet, as the LORD their God had sent him, and the people did fear before the LORD.

• Prophet Haggai singles out leaders Zerubbabel and Joshua, and God’s REMNANT…who
  1) fully obeyed, yielded and followed through on the word coming from the Most High Eternal God.

2) They also heeded and yielded to the prophetic Word coming from Haggai.

3) …Rather than letting God’s direct reproving , big challenging specific Word go in one ear and then out the other, the REMNANT took it to there hallowed hearts and humbly self investigated what lay inside their own heavy hearts. And they reacted in deep sober, deeply respectful, sensitive, reverential fear of the Lord

 

 

V 13. Then spake Haggai the LORD’S messenger in the LORD’S message unto the people, saying, I am with you, saith the LORD.

 

• HAGGAI gives the Godly REMNANT a direct encouraging “Present Day communication” from the Living Lord “ “I AM is with YOU” Meaning because YOU are continually trying very hard to ,honor Me and to give Me first place in your hearts, relationships and actions….You love Me… above ALL else

 

V.14 And the LORD stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people; and they came and did work in the house of the LORD of hosts, their God

• The Word proceeding from the Lord, through Prophet Haggai,fired up and deeply encouraged, motivated and empowered both national elder, leaders Zerubbabel and Joshua to do what the Lord wanted…to focus on getting His House built.

 

• Inspired and motivated by God’s Spirit, plus the example, witness of the two leaders… the abiding Godly REMNANT of God’s Hebrew nation also become motivated, empowered and they too sprang into precise willing action.

V. 15 In the four and twentieth day of the sixth month, in the second year of Darius the king.
* All of this transpired during the first 4 and 1/2 years of King Darius.
