UNDERSTAND PLEASE: THIS PART 2 IS STILL PREPARATION ….and not in depth about GENESIS 34-35…it is still about LEVI ROOTS…but more of his personal, family and emotional ROOTS which built the FOUNDATION for the rest of his ADULT LEADER REAL LIFE (which especially includes what transpires in Genesis 34-35.) Discussing all of these affect the PROPHETIC ROOTS OF PATRIARCH LEVI..and (same principle applies) similarly every other person in every type of CULTURE.

LEVI’S FATHER, SLY JACOB, AS SIRE AND ROLE MODEL

PARENT JACOB’s deceptive, manipulative, cunning, sly nature earned him the Bible name SUPPLANTER until later, when he wrestled with God and that changed his heart. Following his doing that, God changed JACOB’S name to ISRAEL. (Genesis 32)

YET BEFORE that name and character transformation, the younger SUPPLANTER, big deceiver EARLY JACOB was merciless and an epitome of huge selfishness.He he demonstrated this by tricking his blood kin on two major occasions.

The first sly time was when JACOB deceived his very own twin brother ESAU out of his birthright.(GENESIS 25:27-34)

strong>AND AFTER DOING THAT, JACOB, assisted by his deceptive mother REBEKAH, intentionally deceived his own blind father, in order to get ESAU’S Patriarchal BLESSING. (GENESIS 27:5-13)

YET, due to the undeserved LOVE and GOODNESS of the Lord, JACOB had that BETHEL angelic spiritual encounter, which produced an enormous true life transformation. GOD pronounced JACOB to be called a NEW NAME: ISRAEL.

BUT THERE WAS A PROSPEROUS HAPPY ENDING: THE PATRIARCH JACOB (with his wife REBEKAH) (ISREAL) went on to have 12 sons, who later became the world famous leaders of the TWELVE HEBREW BIBLE TRIBES.(of which LEVI was one)

LEVI’S MOTHER:

LEAH: manipulated, dominated and controlled at first by her father LABAN, as she evidently was perceived as needy, having not been married and in the fact that her father resorted to cunning just to marry her off.

LEAH was regarded as being “physically less than” and “weak eyed” (doe eyed); Disrespected and repeatedly rejected, she grew retaliatory and very competitive to gain the affection of her shared, very distant more than one woman husband. (far more below)

PREPARING FOR THE CONCEPTION OF LEVI: PATRIARCH JACOB’S TWO WEDDINGS:

” Leah was (weak eyed) tender eyed; but Rachel was beautiful and well favoured.”GENESIS 29: 17

BE CAREFUL HOW YOU SOW: SNEAKY PATRIARCH JACOB GETS SOME PAY BACK

JACOB falls in love with his beautiful distant relative,
RACHEL, who’s father is JACOB’S UNCLE LABAN.

(NOW we read where the sly cunning JACOB, who has repeatedly SOWN family deception…now gets a form of spiritual “payback”…. for this time HE gets the short stick (gets deceived and conned) by his uncle LABAN.

UNCLE LABAN will give the hand of his best looking daughter (RACHEL) over to JACOB in marriage IF JACOB agrees to work for his UNCLE LABAN for 7 very long years. AND this he agrees to do.

FINALLY, after the 7 work years end, LABAN throws a wedding and JACOB and his daughter. Both at long last get married.

BUT… following the wedding …. when it is too late to turn back, JACOB lifts offs his bride’s veil in order to look into what he expects to be the liquid pool of big brown eyes attached to his longed for Love RACHEL…..only to be surprised as he finds weak eyed, far less attractive LEAH under the matrimonial covering.

CUNNING JACOB has now been tricked by his own blood kin, similarly to how he had tricked both is twin brother and his dear father!

His own UNCLE LABAN has connived to find a way to slyly marry off his spinster less favored daughter, LEAH.

ASIDE….while the Bible never mentions either fisticuffs or bloodshed…it solidly appears that both JACOB and UNCLE LABAN hammer out yet one more 7 year AGREEMENT that satisfies each party: JACOB will work 7 more long years in order to be able to wed the lovely RACHEL.

ANOTHER ASIDE: the writer notes how exceedingly Goal Focused and persistent Jacob is!

AT LAST... at the end of the second set of 7 surely very long work years, AT LAST JACOB and RACHEL are allowed to get married.

AND one could think that from that point on, that all would be “Happily Ever After”..but instead, the real (RELATIONSHIP) trouble(s) were only just about to begin!

LEVI’S NUCLEAR FAMILY ROLE MODEL

JACOB’S TWO MARRIAGES, ABIDING HOUSEHOLD PEACE BARELY EXISTED

BEGINNING VERY SHORTLY AFTER the second marriage, PATRIARCH JACOB definitely begins to show more favor (as well as more kindness and real respect) toward the beautiful RACHEL rather than the “weak eyed” LEAH.

This creates a family deep dynamics, especially after little ones begin to arrive…and then keep on arriving…

AS HUSBAND, FATHER, PATRIARCH…LEADER JACOB proceeded to leave marginally unattractive second spouse LEAH out in the proverbial cold, and by doing so he unwittingly pioneers a pervading, unseen, toxic family camp entire atmosphere atmosphere….

AS WE read through GENESIS 24-25 it appears to describe an Old Testament time multi person, 24/7 emotional war zone . THE THREE DIVISIVE OVERSEEING PARENTING AUTHORITIES (Jacob, Leah and Rachel) are role models of ongoing accusation, pent up deep anger and never ending acrimony.

ASKING: MIGHT THIS( all of this entire preceding ( big chaos and internal DRAMA) surrounding LEVI’S DWELLING ALSO BE THE PROPHETIC ROOTS OF CHAOS, MINISTRY MISOGYNY*, REBELLION**, ARROGANTLY DISREGARDING OTHER’S MINISTRY, LEADER BOUNDARIES? ACCUSATION?

EXAMPLES:
* MYSOGYNY: women hating, demeaning ministry disrespect of some types of leader women, big Levitical resentment, . The writer states this as when a young man sees his own mother being repeatedly rejected, assuming that God’s women are to be USED, and many times abused, he may assume the attitude of anger, big resentment and or take on the mindset of the father, any kind of abusive, disrespecting type of man (who perpetrated)…

…..and cause the youth to harbor big, even life long, UNFORGIVENESS in his heart, and to PROJECT resentful ACCUSATION (in ministry, business, home, lay) toward ALL “similar type MOTHERS, WOMEN, FEMALE AUTHORITY)..inwardly regarding and fully disrespecting many of them as ‘SECOND CLASS MINISTRY , LAY, CONGREGATIONAL BUSY BODY CITIZENS who tend to power control, create trouble and who are irritating ….

(YET, surely their are wronged women who might do this back regarding ministry authority MALES…)

** OUTWARD REBELLION: (MUCH MORE in the conclusion PART 3)

BUT BRIELY: I fully submit that it all comes from PARENTING. Please note the hallmark spiritual true fruit that marked (favorite wife) RACHEL’S two amazing leader children the worldwide reknown LEADER JOSEPH and BENJAMIN.

AS COMPARED to the fruit in LEAH’S dysfunctional CREW. (again GENESIS 34-35)

DISCERN: WHICH CHILDREN were the most likely to have had a hands on, interacting, mutually respecting, genuinely caring hand on FATHER JACOB relationship….the children of RACHEL? or the rest of the 8 remaining children?

INTENTIONALLY OPEN ENDED..

strong>MINISTRY AND WISE PARENTING ASIDE:

COMING from a natural parenting view, sr ministry viewpoint) each and every one of those baby’s emotionally wide open, sensitive DISCERNERS and which had come into being on this earth, completely undamaged, now are expected to grow and THRIVE amidst an argumentative, supremely dysfunctional, very unhappy , yet amazingly High Called and multi gifted PATRIARCH’S FAMILY.

AND ALL of the small innocent children were captives and forced to bear witness..to the ongoing mother against mother, wife against wife,unstable, harmful, accuser wounding, rivalries big friction. AND the shunning, intentionally avoiding behavior of a very partial, often impatient, partial to only SOME of his future leader children, father.

WE THEN MIGHT CONCLUDE that for the 12 future leaders of God’s Children of the nation of Israel entire TRIBES..that LEADER LEVI and each one of his other siblings each grew up with certain (prophetic) ROOTS which had been very strongly affected and also AFFLICTED by the ACCUSER OF BOTH THE BRETHREN BUT OF THE “MOTHEREN”. And the writer submits that this continues down to this very leader day..

ALL THESE SIBLINGS each dwelled, were parented by, and were hand mentored by, hero role models which were sly,emotionally volatile and who modeled out of control willful competitive, rude behavior.

AND unbeknownst by any of them, JACOB, RACHEL and LEAH, filled the family atmosphere their own 12 children’s memories with that of division, continual arguing and fighting, juvenile leader behavior, inter personal strife, subliminal emotional lasting imprints of basic rejection and suffering.

THE PATRIARCHAL JACOB FAMILY DWELLING was not a emotionally comforting,akin to a Middle Eastern, Ward and June Cleaver nurturing “SAFE HAPPY( HAVEN) HOME!” …rather it was CHAOTIC/DYSFUNCTION/ GENERATIONAL FAMILY CURSE abiding Tension (desert) City!

AND EVIDENTLY SOME major family dynamic must have come into play to have GOD describe two of LEAH’S BY JACOB in such a terrible way:

“Simeon** and Levi are brothers:their swords are weapons of violence. Let me not enter their council, let me not join their assembly, 
for they have killed men in their anger and hamstrung oxen as they pleased.” Genesis 49:5-7

** ALSO, Son Jacob/Leah first born son, SIMEON, was demoted from being allowed to govern a Hebrew TRIBE. This was due to the icky fact that he “slept with his own father’s concubine, BILHAH’. (Genesis 35:22)

GOOD PARENTING SELAH: Wondering if partial parent picked pets which he hands on genuinely FATHERED his favorite wife RACHEL’s two children…yet wonder if he was dismissive, rejecting and had merely SIRED Leahs’ handful of gifted very high called, office kids?

THE LEAD AND JACOB LEVI-SIBLING PLAYBOOK

JACOB SIRED SIX CHILDREN WITH LEAH: Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, and Jacob(Israel’s) only daughter, Dinah.

JACOB HAD BUT TWO CHILDREN WITH RACHEL: JOSESH and BENJAMIN (both seem to be their father’s favorites..which explains the wrath and anomosity coming against both of them from all of the other children)

JACOB ALSO HAD 2 CHILDREN EACH WITH TWO OF (BOTH OF) HIS WIVES HAND MAIDENS “JACOB’S CONCUBINES:

ONE of the commentaries I read stated that the use of CONCUBINES as SURROGATES for both LEAH and RACHEL was due to each one trying to out produce more children than the other…as back in the Old Testament Hebrew days, the number of children was a sign of blessing from God.

AND it was evident that each wife wanted to be regarded as THE MOST BLESSED BY GOD aka viewed as THE BIG WINNER.

THEREFORE in addition to the 8 above natural husband -wife spawned leader children, 4 more were born via BILAH and ZILPAH.

1.JACOBS CHILDREN WITH (Rachel’s hand maid) BILHAH (Genesis 30:3-6): DAN, NAPHTALI

2. JACOB’S CHILDREN WITH (Leah’s hand maid) ZILPAH (it was LEAH’S IDEA to have children through her…again due to the rivalry and contention) (Genesis 30:9)

NOTE: UPCOMING IN PART 3 (the conclusion, I will try to go line upon line to dig out the meaty points from GENESIS 34-35..but for now, we still need to finish laying our LEVI PROPHETIC ROOTS very apostolic “root filled foundation..”

May sound a bit repetitive…

IMPLICATIONS SURROUNDING LEVI’S BIRTH:

LEVI was the byproduct of a disrespecting, projecting rejection, and loveless union between the cunning, manipulative self seeking JACOB and the less than physically appealing, non favored LEAH.

FROM HIS EARLIEST YEARS LEVI grew up in the deep grass roots, inside a household where the chaotic atmosphere of big repeated rejection was created because of the major friction between all of young LEVI’S 3 parents.

ADDING TO ALL OF THIS was LEVI’S birth order in the family, that of the MIDDLE CHILD.

PERHAPS, as the middle born child, LEVI grew up feeling that in order to be noticed, that he had to find ways of calling attention to himself, such as acting out.

MANY psycologists have penned vast quantities of findings about the MIDDLE CHILD. Being a classic MIDDLE CHILD has been proven to produce many strengths but also it can create added emotional pressure,, the latter being a need to carving out an individual identity apart form the first and the third born. OR, in some findings, to find out methods and ways to make themselves stand out and get attention.

YET RIGHT SMACK IN THE MIDDLE of the 6 mixed up children born from weak eyed LEAH, was a majorly important FUTURE MEGA TYPE LEADER: the future TRIBAL FATHER LEADER of the Tribe of Levi from whom all temple servants, worship musicians, scribes, and many servant leader ministry offices descend down from…

AND BASED on all the above and this telling verse:

GREAT PARENTS AND WISE LEADERS DULY NOTE:

• NOTE that surely that “WITH GOD NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE”

*NOTE that neither LEVI’S BIRTH ORDER, nor his parent’s actions, nor the rejection LEVI had hanging over him, due to his accusative parents, could not STOP HIM from fulfilling His Highest GOD CALLING!

*LET US ALL PONDER about how overall important it is to turn toward the good LORD to help YOU eliminate big anger, chaos,accuser strife, dysfunction in YOUR daily HOME? YOU have no clue about WHOM God has given YOU to raise..meaning a FUTURE APOSTOLIC TRIBAL, MAJOR LEADER!
