PC WORKPLACE AND TV’S MR ROGER’S

“How to NOT Offend Yet Make Your Leader Point”

“It’s YOU I like, and not the clothes YOU wear .It’s not the way YOU wear YOUR hair. It’s YOU I like.” Mr. Fred Rogers
Baptist TV Prophet Mr. Roger’s Kind But Direct Way:

Many years ago my children’s favorite was TV’s, Mr. Rogers. He used to put on his cardigan and sing little childlike meaningful songs. It was not until after both my children were grown that it occurred to me that GOD had given Mr. Rogers, an ordained Baptist pastor, a “prophetic wisdom” for the modern Politically Correct ministry, work, parenting, leader environment. Here is what I mean by this:

Kiddie TV’s Mr. Rogers sang, “It’s YOU I like, it’s not the clothes YOU wear, it’s not the way YOU wear YOUR hair, it’s YOU I like.” ..which then made everybody feel safe, comforted and good….no condemnation based on any outward personal SHORTCOMINGS.

Thus, when we, as a leader, need to make it plain, yet avoid being CRITICIZED and ACCUSED for being “mean spirited” or by today’s supersensitives, it occurred to the writer that God had blessed the cozy cardiganed, nonhipster, TV’s own (now presumably up in heaven) Mr. Rogers to help each of us in our leader communication… in these PC (Politically Correct) last days.

For example, let us say that SOMEONE is acting angry, arrogant and rude. (Choose ONE or BOTH)

Ordinarily, you might state, “YOU are acting angry, rude and arrogant! Stop.”

However, in today’s emotional climate, that may result in angry retaliation. THUS, why not instead use TV’s Mr. Roger’s sage childlike subtle empathetic insight? Say to that upset person instead,

“It’s YOU I like, It’s NOT the rudeness that YOU wear, It’s NOT the way you’re so arrogant… NO….it’s YOU I like!! (and you could even add: “and also agape really LOVE!”)

Thus, we’re just adding this to our (www.taveaudarcylexicon.wordpress.com ) Lexicon, when it’s rather a SELAH…however, in the realm of helpful COMMUNICATION, this may be at least worth remembering.
