THE COMPUTER IS MY SHEPHERD

The Computer is my shepherd
I might end up in want
Because it leadeth me in the path of least effort
And it taketh up all my spare time.

Yea, when the Lord tries to speak to me
The noise from my computer video game drowns out
His Still Small Voice.
For Whenever He tries to speak to me
I am too busy in the chat room talking with my friends.

I could end up going to either heaven or hell because
I was unwilling to turn the thing off
And have quiet time apart with God.

I give my computer first place in my life
I spend several hours each day fellowshipping alone with it.
Even though the time I have on planet earth
Is silently slipping away.

I don’t really care, in fact, I don’t want to even think about it
Because I love losing my self in the internet.
And there are so many more songs to download.

But there will be time when the computer light turns off
The Lord takes away all false computer reality
And I will be unprepared to deal with True Reality:
And there are many many more days that I can play
And surf the net.

The Computer is still My Shepherd:
My time continues to slip away
But I don’t notice it:
All those wonderful sights and sounds are addictive.

And staying in close touch with all of my friends is exciting!
Still, because I stay so busy, it is really hard to hear what God is trying to say to me…
‘Cause I am too busy fellowshipping with my computer.

Then, when I then walk into the valley of testing
I remain unprepared
My faith is not built up nor my mind renewed and instead of feeling bold and very courageous,
I might end up alone and afraid:
WHY?

Because I offered up my life to my Computer.
And although that had no power to save me,
I gave it first place in my life and
Unwittingly made it my god.

The Computer is my Shepherd????
